UK 2025

A car centric trip to the UK for Matt and Silas interspersed with family and friends. Built around the British GT car Chamionship race at Silverstone , we visited the Coventry Transport Museum, British Motoring Museum and the Haynes Motor museum. In amongst that we saw Alan in Bishops Stortford and Chris and Alex in Lemmington Spa - Headed south to Ames and James - We spent time at the Porsche Dealer and got to go through a door marked 

“staff only” into the workshop. Silas talked shop in the shop with a guy in charge of quality control. Also we drooled on the Aston Martins across the street. Everywhere we went we followed the speed limit. Especially on the tight country lanes. Had cider, lasagne and much chatting. Stumps disapeared. Saw Frankie for lunch, Ali and Steve for breakfast and in London we met up with Glyn for dinner, Granville for a handshake and Christian and Ellie for a lunch that has taken 40 years to plan.

The “ No Cars” album is just that - in the order of Vermont - London - Rugby - Somerset - London. 

Separate albums are the 3 Car museums, The GT race at Silverstone with a Supercar show, and a visit to the Porsche dealer. The videos at the race need the volume up all the way. Obvs.

Ireland and England

 An excellent trip to Ireland - ending up in London to see Poppy. In Ireland we stayed at a couple of castles and drove to see some ancient monuments, castles and gin and tonics. The Cliffs of Moer, Boats and weaving in Killybegs and Grianan of Aileach - an Iron Age hilltop ringfort.  In Northern Ireland we saw the elusive and legendary “cousin Johnny” in his natural habitat with his wife Wendy . The Devils causeway and The Dark Hedges were also highlights .Also our London flight was cancelled so we got the overnight ferry from Belfast to Liverpool with a cabin and then a high speed train to London, then a tube and a few trains more and we got to Poppy’s hotel. Excellent times. After the pictures there are some videos - showing an Irish Weaving Loom in action, Poppy and Fred Sheeran rocking the bar and the frosty view from the train.

like a bridge over troubled water -  Julio was out on a mission that went awry - had to call Simon and Garfunkel on this one - and we called Extreme Towing who sent their grandchildren ( watch the video).  They handled it like pros and we were all home by 4 for tea and cake ! 

                                  

                            

UK 2023

An excellent trip to the UK - Blaire  along for the ride - we took in the South East of England to see Glyn and Liz, Granville and Julie and our top friend Alan , then up to the south west of Scotland to see Billy and Anna and Cousin Johnny and his wife Wendy !  We took  in some golf on Ashley's Birthday. Check out the videos! After that it was up to the North West of Scotland to an epic spot in the Highlands  were there was fishing and tea and pies and  mountains . Evidence of such is in the pictures. Then we headed south to see cousin Elspeth in central Scotland and on to Edinburgh for the night - and to London the next day.
